Fitness training for beginners

Fitness can be intimidating. Even small, mom-and-pop gyms are
usually full of weird-looking machines, equipment you don’t know how to use in any way and on then there are the very hot-and-swish unapproachable sexy people lugging around milk
cartons full of pink water. Most of us new to the world of weights will deign to walk into a gym and then they would be feeling very immmediately overwhelmed.

There’s so much going on it’s very very very very very difficult  to even know where to begin! That is what it is, fellas; intimidation! I remember feeling this way the very first time I walked into the gym of the law school where I got my LLM in Victoria Island Lagos and the feeling is something I remember easily well. That’s the time the non-scary elliptical calls your name. Your friendly things of the neighborhood cardio machines have never failed you, so you’re jumping on one and start swooshing. And that’s where you stay, silently watching other people go about their toning, supine, awesome-looking workouts.

When you finally muster the courage to try some resistance
training, you’ll likely head over to the machines. You’ll choose an
open one, read the directions, and then try to copy whatever the
model is doing in the pictures.

“WTF am I doing?” you may ask
yourself as you go through the motions. “Is this even right? I
swear those directions don’t make any sense. Good God, I hope no
one is watching me!”

After your bout with the machines, you think about making your way to the dumbbell rack, but it’s overrun with very sexy and hot babes and toned, ripped, provocative muscled guys doing their best to out-bro each other. The Chicks are also working on full force, pulling and grunting an laughing. You feel intimidated around these people and also inferior because they can do these awesome stuff and can’t. Oops, sorry.

After you leave the gym, you head home and start arguing with
yourself about your next meal: I just worked out, why should I ruin
it by eating? Maybe I’ll just have some pasta… And thus you………….  struggle on with your fitness routine, never quite…………
making the progress you hope to make and always wondering
what “the secret” could be.

Set your priorities straight and do something about your body. You’ve got only one of it and if you lose it, believe me, you’re not getting it back. Ok? So… try and get up and going.

You need not go to the gym to look and feel so darn sexy. You can always keep the running clothing you’ve got by your bed do that when you wake up in the morning, you put on the thing and get going. With the music beating in your ears, who said you can’t get hot.

Next, when you’re watching that movie you love, get down and do the pressups and situps. It’s easy, no? Yes. You can do circuit training, and then skip rope. Plus shadow boxing. Oops. Dan out of battery. Will be right back.. wait for moi!!!
